Why we recommend buying a 220V dishwasher, not converting
People assume a dishwasher is a simple pump appliance, but the pump motor draws only 200–400 W — the real electrical load is the heating element that heats the wash water and drives the heated-dry cycle, pulling 1,200–1,800 W for long stretches. On top of that, the motor and electronic controls are tuned to 60 Hz. A transformer can match the voltage, but it can't fix the frequency — so cycle timing and the pump run off, and we can't guarantee it will work. For a built-in appliance you'll use daily, a native 220V/50 Hz (or 220V/60 Hz for overseas) dishwasher from us is the better decision.
If you already own a US dishwasher — what size converter?
If you want to try, here's the honest sizing — with the caveat that on the wrong frequency some dishwashers run (with a shortened life) and some won't run at all. The heating element decides the size: our rule for anything that makes heat is about 3× the heating wattage. A 1,500 W dishwasher wants roughly a 5,000 W transformer; a large heated-dry model runs past a practical transformer size — which is where buying native makes more sense.

Many dishwashers advertise a low eco-cycle number. A transformer has to survive the hot-wash and heated-dry peak, which is much higher — always size to the maximum on the nameplate. And remember: with the wrong frequency, we can't promise it'll run at all.
