The PlayerPro 8K goes beyond standard media players in one critical way: its power supply. Where most players use a switching power supply, the PlayerPro 8K features a robust linear power supply anchored by a massive toroidal transformer — the same audiophile-grade approach used in the R_volution Chassis DIY-X700 upgrade kit. Combined with a precision TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) clock for ultra-accurate timing, the result is a dramatically cleaner audio and video signal — deeper blacks, more accurate colors, improved sharpness, and a wider, more dynamic soundstage.

Dual HDD Enclosure — Up to 64TB

The PlayerPro 8K features a dual 3.5-inch SATA hard drive enclosure capable of hosting up to 64TB of content — roughly equivalent to 1,600 standard Blu-ray rips or 800 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray rips. R_video intelligently manages your library across both internal drives as well as any externally connected USB drives. Hard drives are not included.

8K UHD with AI Picture Enhancement

Powered by the Amlogic S928X chipset with HDMI 2.1 output, the PlayerPro 8K supports full 8K UHD playback at up to 60p with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and the latest AV1 codec. The built-in AI-PQ (Artificial Intelligence Picture Quality) processor dynamically enhances local contrast and color based on each image, while AI-SR (Artificial Intelligence Super-Resolution) uses AI to sharpen detail, improve edge clarity, and reduce noise when upscaling HD content to 4K or 8K.

Dolby Vision VS10 and SDR to HDR

The PlayerPro 8K includes the full Dolby Vision VS10 processing engine, optimizing every frame regardless of source format — SDR, HDR, or Dolby Vision. SDR content is intelligently upconverted to vibrant HDR on compatible displays. All Dolby Vision profiles are supported (P4, P5, P7 MEL and FEL, P8).

IP Control and Smart Home Integration

The PlayerPro 8K offers full IP control capabilities for seamless integration with third-party AV control systems including Crestron, ProControl, RTI, and others. The premium backlit remote is also Bluetooth capable, and the wide-range IR sensor covers 60 degrees at up to 26 feet. An IR extender is included for cabinet and behind-door installations.
