Do you ship internationally, and can you ship to my country?

We ship worldwide. Small items go by air to almost any country, and you can check availability and cost for your address at checkout. Large appliances are the exception. A washer, dryer, or refrigerator cannot travel by air, so for those we ship to a freight forwarder in the USA, and they arrange the ocean leg to your country. If your destination will not calculate at checkout, call us and we will work it out.

How much does shipping cost, and will I have to pay customs or duties?

Small items ship worldwide by air, and the website calculates the cost at checkout. Duties and taxes are separate. You pay them in your country when the shipment arrives, and because the rate depends on where you live, we can't quote it in advance. Large appliances are a different matter. A washer, dryer, or refrigerator cannot travel by air, so those ship to a freight forwarder in the USA and go on from there.

How long will delivery take?

In-stock items generally ship within three to seven business days, and checkout will show an estimate for your address. Treat that as an estimate, not a promise, especially for overseas destinations where the final leg is outside our control. If you need something by a specific date, call or email us first. We will confirm the item is genuinely in stock and give you a realistic date before you order.

Can you ship to my US address or freight forwarder first so that I can send it on myself?

Yes, and for large appliances, that is the normal route rather than a workaround. Refrigerators, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, and the larger televisions all ship to your US address or to your freight forwarder, and you arrange the ocean leg from there. Smaller items do not need a forwarder at all. Region-free players, transformers, small kitchen appliances, personal care items, and vacuums go by air, so we can send those to you directly.

Will a 220V appliance work on US power, and will my US appliance work overseas?

Neither will work without a transformer, and one direction is far riskier than the other. US outlets run 110 to 120 volts, so a 220V appliance usually will not start at all, though it rarely comes to any harm. The reverse does harm. A 110V appliance plugged into a 220V outlet will short out on the spot, and you cannot recover from that. A step-up or step-down transformer solves both directions.

I have a 240V outlet at home for my dryer. Can I plug an overseas 220V appliance into it?

No, and the similar numbers are exactly what catches people. A US 240V outlet is two 110V lines combined at 60Hz, which is a split-phase supply. Overseas 220V is a single line at 50Hz. The appliance isn't receiving the power it expects, so it may not run and may be damaged. The same applies in reverse: a US dryer or range will not simply plug in overseas.

Do your 220V appliances run on 50Hz or 60Hz?

Most of what we sell runs on 50Hz, which most countries outside North America use. Some items are 60Hz, and some handle both. The product description states which, so check there first. If the description is not clear, email us the model and we will confirm before you order. Frequency matters more than people expect on anything with a motor, so it is worth getting right.

What plug does it come with, and will it fit the outlets in my country?

Most of our 220V items come with a European Type F plug, the round two-pin. Some arrive with a UK Type G instead, and where an item has neither, we include a European adapter. The plug is the easy part in any case. An adapter costs a few dollars and changes the shape to fit your socket. What actually matters is voltage, and an adapter does nothing about that, so the appliance itself needs to be right for your country.

Where are you located, and where do you ship from?

We are in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, just outside Chicago, and that is where almost everything ships from. We have been in the same area for over forty years. Some larger items ship directly from a manufacturer or regional warehouse. Either way, we handle the order here, and you are always dealing with our own people rather than a drop-shipper.
