Keep in mind that PAL DVD playback requires a PAL, MULTI-SYSTEM TV, or 3D TV, and because it is a hardware modification, you can continue to upgrade with the latest official Sony firmware as it will not affect the Code Free Modification.

Does not have a built in Pal / NTSC converter. Plays Pal or NTSC DVDs on Screen. If connecting to TV Perfect for use outside USA with a Pal TV or a Multi system TV. If used in the USA with NTSC TV a Video converter is required for playback of Pal DVDs on NTSC TV. IF you plan on connecting this player to a TV and play Pal Discs on a (NTSC) USA standard TV, please consider a player with a built in Pal to NTSC converter Such as International or Toshiba Brands.
