That extra zone count draws more power, from 2800W on the smallest up to 7900W on the largest. The top end isn't a simple plug-in: the Culina units need a dedicated circuit rated 40A to 45A, and the Cata Europe calls for 32A, so an electrician runs new wiring first.
Some models add extra safety and control features:
- Child lock, on many listings, so the panel can't be bumped by accident
- Residual heat indicator, also common, flagging a zone still cooling down
- Timer, on just over half the lineup for hands-off cooking
- PowerBoost, on select Bosch and AEG models, for faster heating
- ReStart, Bosch-specific, to recover your last setting after a shutoff
- Auto pan detection, on the Culina CATAICONFLEX90F and Cata Europe
