Important Note: This player does
not have a built in converter! This means that you will be able to play
Pal discs on a Pal TV, and NTSC Discs on a NTSC TV. If you have a multi
system TV that supports Pal and NTSC then you will be able to play both
Pal and NTSC discs on your TV. In order to play a Pal dvd on a NTSC
tv, you will need a external
Video Converter.
This dvd player will
not play a PAL (European) movies on a NTSC (United States) TV. To do this
you will also need to buy a
video converter.
PAL and NTSC Playback:
The dvd player will playback Pal DVD's on a Pal TV and
NTSC DVD's on an NTSC TV. To play back Pal DVD's on an NTSC TV you will need
to buy a video converter also available on our website; or you can buy one
of your dvd players with a built in converter.

The SC-HT940 features an added advancement to HDMI: HDAVI Control.
HDAVI Control enables the user to enjoy home theater with the touch of
a single button on the remote. Instead of having to use separate
remotes to turn on a Panasonic television and home theater system,
just by pressing the play button on the remote, the home theater and
television are turned on and the correct inputs are automatically
selected.
This new Panasonic home theater system sports sleek new cosmetics,
and slim, wall-mountable tower speakers, making them the perfect
companions to Panasonic’s plasma TV line. To further harmonize with
Panasonic’s plasma TVs, the SC-HT940 incorporates a new HD
up-conversion feature. When connected to an HDMI-compatible display,
the resolution of a DVD can be up-converted to 720p or 1080i output.
New HD enhancement processing sharpens contours as images are being
up-converted.
H. Bass technology is incorporated into the SC-HT940 to
dramatically improve audio characteristics in the subwoofer, resulting
in ultra-robust bass sounds that add to the dynamism and atmosphere of
movie and music audio reproduction. It also features 360-degree sound
reproduction for rich, all-encompassing life-like sound that
transports a home viewer right into the scene on the big screen
