Main Features:
- Unique to use
- Just looking at the Nokia 8850 you know
instinctively that there is some very sophisticated technology inside.
And you're right.
But though there are a lot of new features in the Nokia 8850, we never
develop new technology for its own sake, but in order to make it easier
for you to communicate.
- Voice Dialing
- Just call out a name, and the Nokia 8850 places
the call for you. You can save 8 names in the Nokia 8850 to be activated
for voice dialing. Once the name and number are saved, you activate
voice dialing with a long press on the "names" key. Say a name and the
Nokia 8850 starts dialing, confirming your choice by repeating it and
showing the name and number on the display.
- Picture Messaging
- With the Nokia 8850 you can include pictures in
your short messages. There are several default designs already installed
in the Nokia 8850, all of which are replaceable.
- Write twice as fast
- Predictive text input makes it fast and easy to
write messages on the keypad of the Nokia 8850. The phone contains a
built-in dictionary, with support for over ten major European languages.
Each time you press a key the Nokia 8850 compares the word you have
written so far with the words in the database and selects the most
likely word. So you can write by pressing one key per letter, instead of
two or three as with an ordinary keypad. If there are several possible
words, you choose a new one by pressing the star key.You can input new
words and names into the database.
- Advanced wireless solutions
- The Nokia 8850 has an infrared link for wireless
communication with a compatible Nokia phone or a compatible PC or
printer. And the Nokia 8850 supports standard communications protocols.
You can transfer, e.g. phone numbers with the infrared link between
compatible phones. You can download new phone numbers and ringing tones
over the air. And the Nokia 8850 has a TTML browser, so you can receive
new menu items to your phone making it easy to access services from the
operator.
- A perfect balance
- It's among the smallest phones we've ever made,
weighing just 91 grams. It has a nice solid feel in the palm of your
hand.
It's also one of the most sophisticated, with new features like voice
dialing, picture messaging and predictive text input, which make the
Nokia 8850 easier to use.
When you see the Nokia 8850 for the first time, you like it immediately.
And that feeling just keeps on getting stronger
- Genuine materials
- The matte aluminum covers of the Nokia 8850
contain real metal, giving the slide a nice solid feel as you open it to
talk and close it to hang up.
The matte finish of the cover makes a pleasing contrast with the chrome
details of the keys and the frame around the display.
